Student debate of presidential elction issues set for late October

McNeese State University student and faculty supporters of President George W. Bush and Sen. John Kerry will have the chance to persuade McNeese's undecided voters that their candidate is best at a panel debate set for Monday, Oct. 25 in the Old Ranch.The event will be sponsored by The Contraband and the MSU Speech and Debate Team.

Meetings for supporters of each candidate will be held this Friday, Oct. 15 at 4 p.m. in the New Ranch. At these meetings, each candidate's supporters will choose two students and one faculty to represent their candidate's views and policies at the Oct. 25 debate. Organizers are strongly encouraging all well-informed supporters of each candidate to attend so that each candidate is adequately represented.

Speech and Debate Coach and Forensics Director Robert Markstrom will moderate the debate.
