Illegal immigrant workers arrested on campus

The immigrants, according to border patrol Agent in Charge Fred Haney, were employed by the Houston-based contracting company working on the entrance plaza project on the corner on Ryan St. and Sale, where the arrests took place. Another immigrant, Haney said, is believed to have fled successfully.
No investigation was taking place at the time, Haney said. Several of the immigrants reportedly began fleeing the work site after seeing a Border Patrol vehicle, arousing an agent's suspicion.
